Ah, Another Food Blog?

It was not until I came to London in 2007 did I start thinking about being serious about my blog. At first I just wanted to be part of the Bulan Blog dalam Bahasa Malaysia initiative that my friend started off.

After sometime, I thought of putting my thoughts down into words, though I have never had the affinity for it. I never was a Dear Diary type person. That was when I wrote a few posts about my experiences and what I thought about being away from home for a long time, for the first time. There was France for a few months, but nothing compared to being alone and having to mind yourself in a foreign land. There were also a lot going on during that time; hope within disappointments, first loves that did not withstand the tests of time and distances, new loves made, discovery of god and religion, and looking back at where I am, would be and were.

Then, I took a really appetizing photo of a bagel I had while sending the parents off at Heathrow back in November 07. It looked really good and I realized how I can try to describe, in words and photos, what I ate. Notice most photos I take are far from professional and advanced in terms of picture quality, but the closer I get, the better the texture was captured. That was when I started experimenting with taking pictures of food.

I never really got amazing at the photo quality, but that never was the plan anyway. I wanted people to see, and heck I wanted to relive THAT MOMENT I had for myself; the moment the food just came and we were ready to pound on it.
Some of the best times of my life, were those very moments.

I do think about being a bit more advanced with my picture-taking and commenting.
Once I return to Malaysia, maybe I'll get a good camera. I cannot wait to discover all the undiscovered jewels of KL, and of course, share it here. But there's no pressure to get it right and professional and updating it every so often. Because Malaysians love their food, and people that are good at commenting food are aplenty. I'm not trying to do that.

I am not a food blog, neither am I an avid blogger. I just love reliving those moments. And you're welcome to share it with me if you'd like to.

Wasalam.
